Marine fossils have been found on the banks of the Hasdeo river near Manendragarh in Chhattisgarh. For the conservation of this place of scientific national and international importance, the work of establishing a \u2018Gondwana Marine Fossils Park\u2019 will start here from next month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mr. Baghel said that a new budget item has been created for biodiversity conservation from the year 2020-21 to provide adequate financial resources to the Biodiversity Management Committees of the State. With this, funds will be available every year to these committees. Similarly, it has been decided by the state government that 02 percent of the sale price of any forest produce should be given to the local Biodiversity Committee. About 1000 crore rupees are received annually from the sale of tendu leaves alone. In this way, the Biodiversity Management Committees are likely to get an amount of about 20 crore rupees every year from tendu patta alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Public Health Engineering Minister Mr. Guru Rudra Kumar, MLA Mr. Shailesh Pandey and State Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman Mr. Ram Gopal Agarwal, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrata Sahu, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Forest Force Chief Shri Rakesh Chaturvedi along with other departmental officers were present. Forest department officials and experts of various districts of the state also participated in this program through video conferencing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mr. Baghel informed that the Biodiversity Board was constituted in the year 2006 in Chhattisgarh, but it was reconstituted in the year 2020 to carry forward its work effectively. The Chief Minister said that good progress has also been made in the preparation of Public Biodiversity Register in the state. A bird awareness and training center is being set up in the Gidhwa Parsada area. In order to accelerate the work of biodiversity conservation, the State Wetland Authority has been reconstituted in December 2021 by the State Government. Similarly, the survey report of 07 wetlands for the protection of migratory birds has been prepared. Prehistoric frescoes have been found in many districts of the forest areas of the state, a plan is being prepared to preserve them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Forest Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar said that conservation and promotion of biodiversity is also very important for environmental balance. Its imbalance increases the risk of disasters like floods, droughts, storms. He said that a park is being developed for the conservation of birds in Gidhwa-Parsada. 150 types of birds of the country and overseas migratory birds come here. Shri Akbar said that 12 thousand 04 Biodiversity Management Committees have been constituted in the local bodies of the state.He said that with the speedy work of conservation and promotion of biodiversity, employment opportunities will be created, tourism will be promoted .Additional Chief Secretary, Forest Department, Shri Subrata Sahu said that there is a need to create awareness among the people to preserve the rich biodiversity of Chhattisgarh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On this occasion, the Chief Minister released miniature documentaries prepared by the Forest Department on the first expression and proposed bird awareness based on the Manendragarh Fossil Park of rock art, and released 06 books related to biodiversity. The Chief Minister also gave out awards through video conferencing for organizations, individuals and bio-management committees working in the field of biodiversity, conservation of pet animals, conservation of bio-cultural diversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the program, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Secretary of Chhattisgarh Biodiversity Board Shri Arun Kumar Pandey gave detailed information about the works of the Board. On this occasion Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife Conservation) Shri P.V. Narasimha Rao, Secretary, Department of Forest and Climate Change, Mr. Prem Kumar was also present.
